About Checktheweather.net

What is Checktheweather.net?

Check The Weather is a dynamic blogzine working to redefine and re-frame the way people think about the Environmental Sector and the Green Movement. CTW's Contributors aka Forecasters are some of the hardest working and diverse leaders of color in the green movement from around the United States and the World. We highlight news, profiles and music from those most impacted by environmental degradation: People and Communities of Color and/or low-income. From the hoods of DC, The barrios of Texas, the reservations of North Dakota and the burbs of anytown, anywhere, we are giving you all the reasons Green is Not White Checktheweather.net and let us show you a different shade of green.

Living History of Checktheweather.net

In April of 2009, Checktheweather.net founder, Kari Fulton was a campaign coordinator for a non-profit environmental justice organization. Through this experience, Fulton met amazing people from all over the world working to green our planet and find real solutions to Climate Change. Unfortunately, the number of people of color who were involved in this work was a bit smaller and sadly underfunded and underrepresented in the media. This inspired Fulton to gather together some of most dedicated and talented young people of color who are working, living and creating the Green Revolution. This group became the Checktheweather.net Forecasters. Forecasters work daily to find and tell the story of the Green movement from new, fresh and definitely necessary perspectives. Please subscribe to our site and spread the word about checktheweather.net. We sincerely appreciate your feedback, suggestions and ideas and hope you continue to tune in and support us as we give you the forecast and soundtrack for Changing the World.
